What is Body Sugaring?
Body sugaring is a centuries old hair removal practice dating back to the Ancient Egyptians. By applying an all-natural sugar paste to the desired treatment area, the hair is removed from the root in the natural direction of the hair growth, encouraging the hair to grow back in its natural direction. This substantially eliminates ingrown hairs, taking away dead skin and congestion from every hair follicle, without the irritation. This gentle technique significantly reduces the amount of pain normally associated with hair removal.
Sugaring vs. Waxing
Waxing
Wax has many chemical ingredients. mostly resins and preservatives.
Hot wax must be heated to a
high degree that can cause
burning and scarring.
Wax needs chemical solvents to remove its residues.
Can break follicles and causes ingrown hairs due to removing against the grain.
Wax pots, single strips and sticks create waste.
Sugaring
Sugar paste is simply made
out of sugar, water and
lemon juice.
Sugar paste is applied at
body temperature and will not
burn your skin.
You will never leave a sugaring treatment feeling sticky.
Puts less strain on the skin with the paste removed in the same direction hair grows.
Sugar paste is used repeatedly on different parts of your body.

3 stages
of hair growth
1 / Anagen Stage
The Anagen stage is the growth stage, the hair is visible above the skin and receiving nutrients via the papilla and blood supply. (the papilla is a large structure at the base of the hair follicle). This is the best time to remove hair as about 85% of hair on our body is in this stage, and by removing it in this stage it directly weakens the growth by disabling the papilla and extracting the whole hair shaft and root.
2 / Catagen Stage
The Catagen stage is a 'shrivelling' phase, hair is retracting away from the papilla.
3 / Telogen Stage
The Telogen stage or the ‘resting’ stage. The hair shaft is not growing or developing, the old hair is ready to shed and a new hair is being formed.
Hair grows in different stages so, If you extract a hair one day you will not see that same hair in a week, this will be a new hair. The best way to remove and weaken hair growth is with regular hair removal. Beginning with every 3 to 4 weeks and when the hairs are in the early growth stages.

Sugaring is a specialised technique and when preformed correctly, extracts the hair in its natural direction of growth while the hair is still in the early growth stage (Anagen stage). When hair is extracted in this stage it is severed from its nutrient supply and growth is systematically weakened.
Sugaring eliminates hair breakage, unnecessary discomfort and pain, irritation and ingrown hairs while exfoliating dry skin cells.
